How It Works
An air-operated diaphragm pump is a style of positive displacement pump is also known as a “membrane pump” for the mechanically operated membrane that is maneuvered into and out of the pumping chamber during operation. The closing of the diaphragm forces air out of the diaphragm chamber in a repeating motion that operates in cooperation with a reciprocating movement from the pumping chamber. Depending on the wishes of the user and the needs of the industry, either ball or flap valves are operated on either side, with the valves being contiguously manipulated by the back-and-forth pulsing shift of the membranes and the pressure differentiation of the liquids being forced through.
