Ingersoll Rand, a global leader in air compressors, professional tools and material handling equipment, recently released a new ARO® air operated diaphragm pump with a 1/4″ port size. The new PD01 series 1/4″ pump is designed for dosing applications in the commercial laundry, car wash, wastewater treatment, paint, inks and packaging markets, and many other applications where accurate and repeatable dosing is integral to the process being performed.
The new PD01 series 1/4″ pump is a replacement for the current PD02 series. The new 1/4″ pump comes with a solenoid-actuated valve option to electronically control the volume of fluid dispensed which allows the 1/4″ diaphragm pump to operate with accuracy. Operators can use an external controller to program the solenoid pump to establish when to actuate the pump, and to automatically shut off once the pump reaches the required volume. This feature offers repeatability and consistency with less than 3 percent variance.
Designed for clog-free operation, the 1/4″ pump allows solids up to 1/16″ in diameter to pass through the pump. This feature meets or exceeds competitive dosing pump capacities. The pump offers suction lift capabilities of 31.7 feet when the pump is primed and 15 feet of dry lift.
The Flex-Checks option allows the pump to be mounted in multiple orientations — unlike most competitive pumps that must be mounted vertically on a flat surface. The Flex-Check also enables the 1/4″ pump to pass stringy and fibrous fluids, as well as semisolids up to 1/8″ in diameter.
“The 1/4″ diaphragm pumps with the Flex-Check option offer 360-degree mounting, making them ideal for tight space applications,” said Ken Boyce, product manager, ARO Diaphragm Pumps – Americas Region, Ingersoll Rand. “The pump’s flexible configuration also makes it easy to interchange with most major competitive products.”
Pumps are available in a variety of nonmetallic materials, including groundable Acetal, Kynar, Polypropylene with Santoprene, Hytrel, Nitrile and PTFE elastomer options. This gives customers the flexibility to order pumps based on the liquids being pumped, providing a cost-effective solution for their application.
