Sales engineers specialize in facilitating the sales process for technologically and scientifically advanced products. In this case, the role of a sales engineer is in a B2B setting, where they are tasked with selling complex products to other businesses. As a result, sound sales engineers become experts and consultants to their customers while creating more business.

Primary Responsibilities

Process & Power’s Technical Sales Engineer Trainee program is a 9-12 month program designed to prepare participants for a career as a sales engineer.

As a participant, you will complete training geared toward building your skills and knowledge as a sales engineer and developing your ability to consult, problem-solve, and design solutions for various industrial customers

Throughout the training programs, the trainee will participate in the following activities:

  • Ride along with the current sales team

  • Ride along with service techs who work on the equipment sold at Process & Power

  • Product training directly from the manufacturer

  • Training on how to sell technical equipment and the sales process

Experience & Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical major

  • Strong technical aptitude and a solution-selling mindset; solid teamwork skills; excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills

  • Strong goal orientation and desire to pursue a career working with customers as a technical sales consultant

  • Previous internship and leadership experiences are a plus but not required

Business Development Rep - Memphis

Primary Responsibilities

  • Make outbound prospect outreaches via phone, email, etc.

  • Set appointments for outside sales teams

  • Coordinate inside sales functions relating to the sale of complete machines and related parts/accessories, including:

    • Maintaining active proposal and quote logs and files

    • Completion of quotes and proposals under the direction of sales or management

  • Complete machine invoices and outside purchase orders and prepare sales and activity reports

  • Respond to telephone inquiries and walk-in customers regarding air compressors and accessories

  • Support the Outside Sales Engineering team by creating quotes, gathering technical data and price structures, and assisting in providing internal reports

  • Assist customers in their selection of equipment and products

  • Understand customer needs and requirements for their industry

  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of each service, product, and application

  • Successfully interprets engineering specifications and coordinates technical assistance as needed

  • Maintain our sales automation tool (CRM) with contacts, pipeline, opportunities, quotes, and forecast updates

Air Compressor Service Technician - Jackson, TN

This position would require a basic working knowledge of mechanical components and industrial electricity to include both single and three phase power. A qualified person would also need to know how to use general hand tools.

Responsibilities for Service Technician include, but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot, repair all brands of refrigerated air dryers and air compressors

  • Must be able to properly use multimeters, ampmeters, vibration, and infared meters

  • Must be able to successfully perform the above while meeting the Company and Customer’s safety requirements

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes, cleaning, and setting controls

  • Must be able to set up rigging equipment and safely remove and reinstall motors, compressors, and associated components

  • Must be able to safely use all hand tools and power tools such as drill motors, grinders, band saws, etc.

  • Good driving record and able to drive service pickup truck is required

  • Complete paperwork daily

Rotating Equipment Maintenance Mechanic - Springdale, AR

Responsibilities of the Rotating Equipment Mechanic include, but are not limited to:

  • Repair, fabricate, install, and remove a variety of centrifugal, gear, diaphragm, and reciprocating pumps as well as other related rotating equipment either in-house or in the field. Most work and repairs are accomplished in the shop environment.

Qualifications of the Equipment Mechanic include, but are not limited to:

  • Municipal and Industrial pump experience including lift station pumps and controls, vertical and horizontal centrifugal pumps

  • Blower and Vacuum pump experience desirable

  • Must supply own tools

  • Drug test required

  • Acceptable driving record required according to company guidelines

  • Driver’s License (Required)

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

  • Technical or trade school in mechanics (Beneficial)

  • Will train with right candidate

Additional Information:

  • Physical Demand: Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

  • Working Conditions: Shop and Field environment

  • Training/Certifications: N/A

  • Work Hours: 7:30-4:30, Monday through Friday

  • Occasional overtime weekends as necessary
